NApoli – He was trying to break into a car parked on Via Marina when he was caught red-handed by officers from the Decumani Police Station.
It happened late yesterday evening, during a territorial control arranged by the Police Headquarters of Napoli within the scope of extraordinary services against predatory crimes.
A 44-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement for specific criminal convictions, was arrested. He was arrested for attempted aggravated theft and charged with unauthorized possession of altered keys or lock picks and possession of weapons or objects intended to cause harm.
Officers noticed the suspect breaking the front windshield of a parked car and attempting to gain access. He was immediately apprehended and found in possession of burglary tools and two utility knives. Nearby, another car was located with a broken windshield, indicating that the thief may have targeted more than one vehicle.
The 44-year-old was taken to the police station pending judicial decisions. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether other similar incidents have occurred in the area.
