NNaples – A 43-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested by the State Police on charges of aggravated robbery. The order, validated Thursday by the Judicial Authority, ordered the man to be held in pre-trial detention.
The incident occurred a few days ago, when a woman was attacked in Vico San Mandato, in the Montesanto neighborhood. According to the reconstruction, the attacker violently pushed her, ripping off her necklace before fleeing on a scooter.
Thanks to the investigations conducted by the officers of the Police Station Dante Alighieri, who used the descriptions provided by the victim and the images from the video surveillance cameras, the alleged perpetrator was identified and stopped in the same area.
During the arrest, the man resisted arrest, becoming enraged and attacking the officers. For this reason, in addition to the robbery, he was also arrested for assault and resisting a public officer. The investigation is continuing to determine any other similar incidents.

What happened in Naples is a very serious incident, but I believe the police should do more to prevent situations like this. The streets are unsafe, and people need to feel protected, not scared.
