Napoli– This morning, the Naples Naval Air Operations Department, with a view to strengthening services to combat illegal state-owned and commercial land, conducted a large-scale operation that led to the dismantling of numerous illegal moorings in the stretch of water in front of the American Consulate, on Via Caracciolo.
The operation required a significant deployment of forces and resources: the Corps' Divers Unit was employed for underwater operations, supported by a pontoon made available by the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority.
On board the pontoon, with the help of a crane, all the elements used for illegal mooring were recovered and stacked: “dead bodies”, chains, ropes and other material.
Illegal renter of sunbeds and umbrellas at Lido Mappatella
At the same time, a targeted action was carried out on the so-called "Lido Mappatella“, where the Guardia di Finanza caught a person red-handed trying to rent chairs and umbrellas without the necessary authorization
All the material was seized, and the person responsible was given an administrative fine of 5.000 euros.
The entire operation was supported by the collaboration of the military of the I Naples Group, who will deal with the economic-financial police aspects related in particular to illegal moorings, which fuel a significant black market. The Port Authority, present with a patrol boat, guaranteed the safety of navigation in the area concerned.
The Guardia di Finanza has announced that the “Polizia del Mare” controls will be intensified in the coming weeks and will cover the entire regional territory. The objective is clear: to combat any form of illegal activity and protect entrepreneurs who operate in compliance with the rules and legality.
