Naples – A 20-year-old, Claudio Riccardo Garavini, believed to be affiliated with the Pianura "yellow houses" group, which revolves around the Esposito-Marsicano clan, has been issued a precautionary custody order by the investigating judge of the Naples Court at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The charge is serious: having shot a person in the leg on February 9th for alleged "shortcomings," in a manner aggravated by mafia methods. The notification was made in the prison where Garavini is already being held for another violent assault, which occurred on February 1st in a bar in the “little bars” of Chiaia, also characterized by the use of weapons.

The ambush and the investigations

The incident dates back to February 9, when a gunshot in the Pianura neighborhood alerted residents, who immediately contacted the police, avoiding even more serious consequences.
The victim, wounded in the legs, provided crucial testimony, supported by analysis of telephone traffic and video surveillance footage. These elements allowed the Bagnoli Carabinieri to reconstruct Garavini's involvement, charged with illegal possession and carrying of a firearm, crimes aggravated by the use of mafia methods.

An already known criminal profile

Garavini, already known to the authorities, is in prison for an equally serious incident: an armed attack that occurred in a club in Chiaia in early February. His alleged membership in the "Yellow Houses" group, a criminal faction active in the suburban Pianura neighborhood, strengthens the accusation, which portrays him as an emerging figure in a criminal network linked to the Esposito-Marsicano clan.
The use of the mafia method, highlighted by the DDA, underscores the gravity of the action, aimed at punishing the victim for unspecified "shortcomings".
The prompt response of Pianura residents, who reported the shooting, allowed for swift intervention by law enforcement, limiting the escalation of violence. The meticulous Carabinieri investigation leveraged technology and witness testimony to pin down the perpetrator, demonstrating the authorities' commitment to combating organized crime in a neighborhood often plagued by violent incidents.
Garavini's arrest represents a further step in the fight against criminal gangs operating in the suburbs of Naples. The challenge to mafia methods not only aggravates the young man's position, but also sends a clear signal: law enforcement and the judiciary are determined to target those who use violence to assert control over the territory.
The shooting of Pianura and the arrest of Claudio Riccardo Garavini have refocused attention on the presence of criminal gangs in Naples's suburbs.
The coordinated action of residents, Carabinieri, and the DDA allowed the perpetrator to be identified and arrested, but the incident highlights the need to continue vigilantly in a vulnerable area, where crime still seeks to impose its law.

It's interesting how complicated the crime situation in Naples is, especially in peripheral neighborhoods like Pianura. Residents' response has been crucial, but concerns about the area's overall safety remain.
