Napoli – Tension in Bagnoli, where residents of via Coroglio gathered today in front of the Invitalia offices in via Diocleziano to protest against the expropriations foreseen in the urban regeneration plan of the Bagnoli SIN.
Citizens are asking for an urgent meeting with the commissioner structure to obtain clarity on the timing of the procedures and propose alternative solutions, denouncing "scandalous evaluations" of their properties by Invitalia technicians.
“Instead of compensating us for the damage caused by the pollution of the former Italsider, a factory imposed by the State, Invitalia devalues our properties and throws us out of our homes,” accuse the residents. The discontent worsens in light of the anti-seismic measures for the Campi Flegrei, which prohibit new construction in the Sin area.
“When the expropriations are effective, we will be forced to move elsewhere, probably to East Naples, outside the Sin area initially planned,” they explain. The protesters are asking for “certain times” for the expropriation operations and refuse solutions such as hotel accommodations or transfers to locations far from Bagnoli-Fuorigrotta.
"We are tired of being treated like ghosts. We are Neapolitan citizens and we deserve respect. The projects are approved, the funds are available: the silence of the institutions is incomprehensible", declare the residents of Borgo Coroglio, underlining the lack of answers to their repeated requests for a meeting.
The protest highlights the growing unease of a community that demands transparency and certainty for its future.

The situation in Bagnoli seems complicated, residents are right to ask for explanations about the expropriations. It is important that the institutions listen to their requests and find fair solutions for everyone. There are many doubts about the valuation of the properties.
