Naples: A 38-year-old man was caught with a clandestine gun in his car in Piazza Sannazaro.

NNaples – A 38-year-old Neapolitan man with a criminal record was arrested by officers from the San Ferdinando Police Station as part of the extraordinary territorial control operations ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking.

The arrest took place last night in piazza Sannazaro, where officers stopped a car driven by the man for a check. During the search, officers found a 6,35 caliber pistol with its serial number removed, hidden under the driver's seat. The weapon, considered illegal, was loaded with three rounds of ammunition.

In addition to the gun, the man was found in possession of a small package containing approximately one gram of hashish. For this reason, he was also fined for possession of narcotics for personal use. The suspect was arrested for illegal possession of a concealed weapon and is now being held in judicial custody.
