Pusher arrested in Piazza San Francesco di Paola
NNaples – The fight against drug trafficking in the heart of Naples continues unabated. Last night, the State Police arrested a 50-year-old man of Moroccan origin, already known to law enforcement for specific criminal records.
The man was caught red-handed while selling narcotics in Piazza San Francesco di Paola.
The operation was triggered when officers from the General Prevention Office, engaged in their usual territorial patrol, noticed a suspicious exchange. A man, after passing a small bag to another person in exchange for money, noticed the officers' presence and attempted to flee. In the heat of the moment, he dropped the package to the ground.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the officers, the 50-year-old was stopped and searched. They found 152 euros in cash on him, divided into banknotes of various denominations, clearly the proceeds of theillegal activity.
The baggie left on the ground was recovered, revealing its contents: 30 packages of cocaine. The buyer, however, managed to disappear.
The Moroccan man was arrested on charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession. The arrest confirms the commitment of law enforcement to combating petty crime, which, unfortunately, continues to affect even the city's central areas.
