Arzano, nearly €100 for the Feast of Santa Giustina: three councilors file a complaint.

AArzano - Councilors Nicola Falzarano, Natale Russo, and Luigi De Rosa have filed a public complaint: "The Aruta administration, with Culture Councilor Guida (a non-resident of Arzano), spent €77.630,92 on the Santa Giustina celebrations poster, in addition to €20.000 allocated by the Campania Region.

The total cost of the 5-day event alone thus comes to 97.630,92 euros."

"All this," the councilors point out, "is happening while our municipality is in a pre-bankruptcy situation, with serious difficulties in providing essential services to its citizens.

In this context, such an expense appears unjustified and irresponsible."
"The majority city councilors," Falzarano, Russo, and De Rosa point out, "could have blocked this expenditure in the city council meeting, rejecting the budget change.

Instead, once again, they chose to passively follow orders, even taking the risk of being held personally accountable before the Court of Auditors for the use of these public resources.

This imprudent and questionable management of citizens' money adds to other recent episodes of waste: just think of the 20.000 euros spent last Christmas on the late removal and reinstallation of the lights, which were only carried out on December 23rd.

In 4 years of Aruta's administration, over 400.000 euros have been spent on feasts and initiatives without any concrete return, without a real cultural project, without significant events, and without tangible benefits for the citizens."
