Ademola Lookman will not be playing for the Atalanta trip to Germany. The Nigerian striker, a key figure in Nerazzurri's last season and now a target of interest for Inter, did not board the charter flight to Leipzig today, where the team will face RasenBallsport in a friendly on Saturday.
The official reason is a small strain in his left calf, which is forcing him to continue training separately in Zingonia. But there's another truth behind his absence: Lookman is at the center of heated negotiations between the Bergamo club and the Nerazzurri club in Milan, who have already reached an agreement with the player.
Atalanta hasn't yet given the green light for his transfer, but the message is clear: Lookman is staying at home, training alone, outside the group, waiting for the transfer market to decide his future. In theory, he could be fit for the second test in Germany, scheduled for August 9th in Cologne. Unless, in the meantime, you're already wearing other colors.
