What was supposed to be a festive evening turned into a Wild West scene. In Campoli Appennino, in the province of Frosinone, a fight between teenagers nearly ended in tragedy. According to initial reports from the Carabinieri of the Sora branch of the Carabinieri, a twenty-year-old from the Volscian city began arguing with two local youths in the crowd during a village festival.

Tensions escalated in moments: the Sora man allegedly pulled out a blank-firing pistol, striking one of his rivals in the head with the butt of the gun, and then fired several shots into the air. The young man from Campolese, violently struck, suffered a deep laceration and contusion and possible damage to his eardrum. He was rescued and rushed to Sora hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Carabinieri's thorough investigations quickly identified the attacker. Traced to his home, the twenty-year-old was searched. In his car, officers found the gun's box and a shell casing consistent with those seized at the scene of the attack. The blank-firing pistol was likely discarded during the escape.
