Napoli – An August evening, a walk with his wife, and suddenly, the military instinct takes over.

It happened on Saturday, August 9th, in the heart of Naples, on Via Chiaia, when Lieutenant General Rodolfo Sganga, Chief of Staff of the Allied Joint Forces Command Naples (JFC Naples), became the protagonist of a film-like speech.

It was 20.50:XNUMX PM when a woman's screams pierced the air near Piazza Carolina. "They've robbed me!" she shouted, pointing to a young man over six feet tall who was running away at a brisk pace. Without a moment's hesitation, General Sganga abandoned all hesitation and gave chase, demonstrating composure and determination.

The race ended in Piazza Trieste e Trento, where the high-ranking officer managed to stop the fugitive, immobilizing him until a Municipal Police patrol arrived. During the search, the officers recovered the gold chain that had just been stolen from the victim, returning it to its rightful owner.

Not only an act of courage, but also a powerful message: even outside of military operations and formal settings, the spirit of service never goes unrequited. General Sganga's intervention demonstrated that readiness, discipline, and a sense of duty can make a difference even on the streets.
