Tragedy struck last night in Torre del Greco, along the busy Via Nazionale, which has once again become a scene of death. Two scooters collided head-on near Via Torretta Fiorillo, resulting in a fatal collision that left Mirko Acunzo, 40, originally from the Vesuvian city but resident in Scafati, with no chance of survival.
The man died almost instantly, thrown to the asphalt by the force of the impact. A 15-year-old boy was traveling with him in the other vehicle. He also fell to the ground and is now hospitalized in critical condition.Sea Hospital, where doctors have reserved their prognosis.
The exact circumstances of the accident are still being investigated by law enforcement. Carabinieri and police are reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area to clarify every detail.
