Due to the difficulties caused by the July 31 earthquake, alternatives for the passage of trucks headed to the Phlegraean Islands are being evaluated, with a new meeting planned to finalize the measures.

Campi Flegrei, research underway for heavy vehicle transport to Ischia and Procida.
The aftermath of the July 31 earthquake in the Campi Flegrei area continues to impact traffic, particularly heavy vehicle traffic to the islands of Ischia and Procida. In particular, some access roads to the port of Pozzuoli are impassable for trucks, causing disruptions, especially for food transport.
Several alternative traffic solutions are currently being evaluated, which emerged during a meeting convened at the Prefecture in Naples and chaired by Prefect Michele di Bari. The meeting provided an update on the situation and scheduled a new meeting for the evening of August 12th, with the aim of defining the measures to be adopted to ensure the smooth movement of heavy vehicles.
However, there are no problems with the waste collection service provided by compactors operating between the islands and the treatment plants in the Naples area, which continue to operate regularly.
Managing this delicate phase remains crucial to maintaining the continuity of supplies and essential services to the Gulf islands, pending a stable and definitive solution to the infrastructure situation compromised by the earthquake.
