Campi Flegrei: The mayor of Bacoli calls for urgent aid for businesses and housing.

Following the tremors that struck the Campi Flegrei on July 31, the mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, emphasized the need for urgent interventions to limit the economic and social consequences of the earthquake.

During a meeting in Pozzuoli with Regional President Roberto Fico and other mayors in the area, Della Ragione highlighted the priorities of supporting businesses, restoring public transport services, and providing assistance in making buildings safe.

The mayor emphasized the seriousness of the situation for the tourism sector, which is experiencing numerous cancellations, significantly impacting the local economy. He called for aid similar to that provided during the pandemic to prevent further deterioration.

Another crucial issue concerns public transportation: the Campi Flegrei area has been isolated for about twenty days, with the Cumana line having received assurances that it will resume operations, while the metro remains closed.

At the same time, Della Ragione emphasized the need to accelerate the disbursement of funding to allow displaced people to quickly complete the necessary work to return to their homes. For this reason, he called for the adoption of a special law to address the housing emergency, a reality that, he said, has now become the norm in the Phlegraean Fields.
