LIVE – Cardinale lands at Milanello: transfer market meeting with Amorim, names on the table

Cardinale returns to Milanello for a meeting with Amorim: Ramos and Gila already in the Rossoneri, Inácio and Soulé are on the drawing board, but for now they remain only leads and not concluded deals.

Gerry Cardinale returned to Milanello by helicopter for a transfer market meeting with Ruben Amorim and the Rossoneri management. The meeting is scheduled for July 13, 2026, to review the summer campaign. The club has already confirmed two key signings—forward Gonçalo Ramos and defender Mario Gila—while the pursuit of Sankhoun Diawara from Troyes is still advancing, though the deal has yet to be officially confirmed.

According to the latest reports, AC Milan are considering both midfield and defense reinforcements: the names of Portuguese player Gonçalo Inácio from Sporting CP and Argentine player Matías Soulé, who is leaving Roma, stand out, but both should be considered options rather than closed deals. Amorim is also considering internal tactical solutions: one possibility is using Adrien Rabiot further forward as an attacking midfielder, a solution already seen with De Zerbi at Marseille.

The Rossoneri transfer market thus appears to be a two-track affair: targeted incomings and potential exits to be monitored. Among the players linked to departures are names generating international interest (Tomori, Estupiñán, Fofana, Ricci, Gimenez), but these profiles are dominated by reports and ongoing negotiations rather than official announcements. The club's strategy seems clear: consolidate the squad with experienced players and adapt the squad to Amorim's technical ideas, leaving the door open for deals that could free up salary space or find a better tactical balance.
