A new tremor interrupted the relative calm in the Phlegraean Fields at first light. Seismographs from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) detected a magnitude 2.5 earthquake at 5:24 a.m., placing the hypocenter at a very shallow depth of approximately 1,8 kilometers.
The earthquake, though small, was distinctly felt by residents in several neighborhoods due to its shallow depth. Immediate inspections by local authorities and the Civil Protection Department revealed no damage to people or property.
This phenomenon is part of the ongoing bradyseismic activity that characterizes the entire Phlegraean caldera. The recent seismic trend, despite alternating periods of respite with new oscillations, remains under continuous instrumental monitoring, especially after the pivotal event recorded on July 31st with a magnitude of 4.7.
