A "surprise visit" to make people understand that the emergency is not over yet and that now, a few days from the official start of the so-called Phase 2, it will be necessary to respect even more the restrictions imposed by the Government and the Region.
LThe appeal to Governor Vincenzo De Luca comes from the merchants of Rione Alto Napoli, who promoted the request to the President of the Region after having recorded "disorder and superficiality in these last two days within the commercial establishments of the neighborhood". "Lack of respect for the basic rules that for two months - explains Noemi Marigliano, of the ancient salumeria Pane - have led us merchants to try to safeguard not only ourselves, but above all our customers. In these last two days, unfortunately, there have been gatherings, failure to respect the rules, but above all a return to superficiality and personal selfishness dictated by a strong ignorance in not wanting to respect the ordinances. One episode among the many that have occurred in recent days is the one that forced me to prevent people without masks from entering my shop. As a representative of the oldest neighborhood merchants - continues Marigliano - I therefore appeal to President De Luca, so that he intervenes with the police to protect us".
The initiatives of the traders, who continue to make home deliveries for the less well-off for free, with daily expenses for basic necessities, have however encountered difficulties due to the continuous gatherings. This is the case of grandfather Fabio, who has been served daily for two months but who received his shopping late. "I tried - says Daniele Di Vaio, butcher - to respect all the rules in my shop and above all I increased my staff in order to be helpful and provide a service to all my customers. Not only that, always providing them with a punctual home delivery, without additional costs, as many have done instead". The main request of the traders is to ask De Luca for a "surprise visit to be able to verify that all his ordinances are respected".
