Of the 56 new cases, 16 are citizens of Mirabella Eclano, where a screening of the population is underway to deal with the recent increase in infections. Yesterday evening, Mayor Giancarlo Ruggiero announced the results of 88 swabs with 16 positives: "Even if the percentage may seem high - he explained - it is a number of positives that we expected, as the list includes all people who have been in contact with others who are already positive". Instead, there are 7 positives residing in the capital Avellino, 4 of whom are contacts of a positive, 5 positives in Baiano, 3 positives in Calabritto, Marzano di Nola and Mercogliano.
