Naples, illegal parking controlled by the clans. War for the control of Fuorigrotta, the confessions of the former top man of the Cutolo clan led to the arrest of the boss Iadonisi. Borrelli: "We have always denounced it and this is why we must put an end to the phenomenon of illegal parking attendants, paying them means supporting the Camorra that earns 100 million a year from this business."

The management of illegal parking in the Naples area, in some of the most critical areas, is under the control of the Camorra clans, as the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli has always denounced.

The Camorra's direct control over the illegal parking business means that some areas are off-limits to those who would like to park regularly and that illegal parking users resort to a modus operandi typical of organised crime to collect the parking racket: threats, violence, blackmail and retaliation.

In Naples, among the most critical areas is certainly that of Fuorigrotta near the Stadium, the most profitable in the Phlegraean area, so much so as to entice the clans and unleash a war for control. As Internapoli reports, the boss of Via Campegna, linked to the Zazo group, planned to take control of the area by chasing away the Pulcinelli-Petrone of the Rione Traiano, who however meditated revenge by planning the murder.

The one who told the details of the tensions for the control of the Fuorigrotta area was Gennaro Carra in 2019, former top man of the Cutolo clan of via Catone, who became a collaborator of justice. Carra told of the intention of Marco Zazo, a cocaine trafficker, to take over the territory by taking over from the Iadonisi-Cesi, who at the time managed the illegal parking business. Furthermore, Zazo allegedly supplied a drug dealing square belonging to the Puccinellis and managed by Arturo Equabile, linked to the Rione Traiano clan.

Carra's statements to investigators led to the arrest of the boss Francesco Iadonisi and his son-in-law Flavio di Lorenzo for drug trafficking association at the beginning of last November. The reports that allowed the Judiciary to proceed with the arrests have now also emerged.

Another area at risk, also in Naples, is the one in Via Marina where, as NanoTv reports, a man after refusing to pay the illegal parking attendant, found, upon his return, his car scratched.

"That most of the illegal parking attendants are controlled by the clans is nothing new to us, we have always denounced it, that is why we fight them with all our strength. These are not poor fathers trying to bring home the bread as they want us to believe, here we are dealing with criminals who make huge profits. The Camorra manages the parking areas as it does with drug dealing squares, it is now a question of annual earnings that are around 100 million with daily earnings of even 2/3 thousand euros per person in the most profitable areas and periods.

To eradicate this phenomenon, collaboration is needed between the police, who must carry out increasingly continuous capillary checks, and citizens, who must not submit to illegal parking attendants but must help to always report them. Giving in to the blackmail of illegal parking attendants and paying them means contributing to the economic growth of the Camorra, which is already too rich and powerful. Let's not forget that in several cases the parking attendants are also drug dealers or clan sentries" - declares Councilor Borrelli.
