In just over 10 days it's a boom in visits and a great success for Luca Il Sole di Notte, registered as Luca Di Stefano, 32 years old, he started selling fish on board an Ape car at 18 years old in the streets of Sant'Antimo, his idols are Gigi D'Alessio and Biagio Izzo. His father painted portraits, hence the name of his shop: Pescheria degli Artisti.
Last night he told Sky live how the story began while he was connected with the striker of the National , Ciro Immobile who explained that it is Gigio Donnarumma's favorite song and that in a short time it became the hit of the whole team thanks to the charisma of Lorenzo Insigne and Immobile himself. And since yesterday evening all the newspapers and press agencies have sought out and interviewed Luca who told everyone the same story and how he cried with joy when he realized the success.
“It's a great, great emotion, I still can't explain it. I admit, the first time I saw the video of the Azzurri singing my song at the airport exit I couldn't take it and I cried”. Since the victory against Wales, every victory of Italy has been celebrated by the players singing “ma quale dieta, me piacene 'e purpette”, the refrain of Luca's song Il Sole di Notte.
“It is a great satisfaction – says the neomelodic singer – the Neapolitans Insigne, Immobile and Donnarumma have brought my song around Italy and Europe and this is my greatest joy”. An unthinkable success for the singer from Sant'Antimo, whose artistic career began in his workplace, the Pescheria degli Artisti in the center of the small town north of Naples: a name that is a tribute to his father, “art master”, source of inspiration for his first songs.
“They were born almost as a joke – he explains – as marketing for the fishmonger. We published the videos on social media and they were successful, from there the first calls came and I started performing at communions and baptisms, but I also participate in shows and events”.
Up until “Ma quale dieta”, written together with his friend Ciro Renna and published only a few months ago, an ode to eating with mentions of meatballs, cutlets and afternoon snacks to be repeated already at 7 in the evening. “I had a feeling that it would be a success – confesses Luca Il Sole di Notte – for a very simple reason: the song is about food and everyone likes food. As Mario Merola used to say: è bello 'o magnà”.
And now that the song has become famous and its role as the lucky charm of Roberto Mancini's national team is recognized throughout Italy, Luca's wish is to be able to meet the new European champions: "It would be a great satisfaction, I hope to meet them so I can congratulate them up close".
