Castellammare, foreign worker dies in Fincantieri: illness hypothesis

A tragic accident occurred inside the Fincantieri plant in Castellammare di Stabia, where a foreign worker lost his life while on board a logistics support vessel destined for the Italian Navy.

According to initial information, the man died due to a sudden illness while he was climbing an internal staircase.

The 118 staff, the Port Authority of Castellammare di Stabia and the local Carabinieri immediately intervened on the scene, but unfortunately the worker died before being able to receive medical assistance.

The Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation to shed light on what happened. The section of the ship had been launched recently and work is currently underway on board to set it up.
