Cardito. A sort of Camorra shooting range was discovered by the Guardia di Finanza with stolen cars and a machine gun with a firepower of 500 rounds per minute.

The discovery, on a piece of land located in Carditello, a hamlet of Cardito, by the financial police of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, and in particular, the Fiamme Gialle of the Frattamaggiore Group, noticed the presence of some cars hidden behind a thick network of shrubs and vegetation, on land not visible from the main road.

Among the seized material stands out a lethal Sten submachine gun, caliber 9, capable of firing up to 500 rounds per minute. The weapon, of British manufacture, has been subject to home-made modifications to increase its lethality and make it more difficult to trace.

The magazines were completely full and the numerous shell casings found inside one of the stolen cars attest to recent use of the weapon.

In addition to the firearm, the financial police found three cars, two of which were stolen, and a large quantity of ammunition. The presence of spent shell casings of various calibers suggests that the location was used not only to store the arsenal, but also for shooting practice.

Investigations are still ongoing to track down those responsible and to ascertain any links with other criminal activities. Today's operation represents a hard blow to criminal organizations operating in the northern area of ​​Naples, demonstrating the effectiveness of joint action by law enforcement in combating the Camorra.

The weapon, a 9mm automatic model “STEN”, which has a firing capacity of 500 rounds per minute, appeared to have undergone rudimentary modifications, and will be subjected to an expert assessment to understand whether it was used in bloody incidents or for acts of intimidation, also in light of the latest events that have occurred in the area north of Naples, between the municipalities of Grumo Nevano, Cardito, Sant'Antimo, Casandrino and Caivano.
