### Italian Poetry in South Korea

Laura Garavaglia, President of the Casa della Poesia di Como ODV and Artistic Director of the Europa in Versi Festival, together with Stefano Donno, publisher of I Quaderni del Bardo Edizioni and Vice President of the same institution, are distinguishing themselves for their work of cultural diffusion between Italy and South Korea. From 8 to 18 October, both will be protagonists in Seoul of a series of cultural events aimed at consolidating relations between the two countries through the language of poetry.

Laura Garavaglia's seminar

During their stay in Seoul, Laura Garavaglia will be a guest of Korea University to hold a seminar entitled “Verses and Formulas: The Alchemy between Poetry and Science”. This event is part of the “Invited Lectured by Overseas Scholars” program and will offer a unique opportunity to investigate the connections between poetry and science, two seemingly distant but intrinsically linked fields. Garavaglia’s participation is particularly significant due to her long-standing collaboration with Korean academics and poets, which has earned her several international awards, including the 2nd KS International Literary Prize and the Best Poet of the Year 2022 Award.

Stefano Donno's recognition

Stefano Donno will also play a prominent role in this cultural initiative. Thanks to his commitment to publishing South Korean poets and promoting contemporary poetry in Italy, Donno will be awarded the prestigious 5th Changwon KS International Poetry Prize. This recognition attests to his commitment to promoting cultural exchange between Italy and South Korea and to highlighting the importance of poetic communities globally. Donno expressed great emotion in representing Italy and in being able to share his poetic passion with an equally passionate audience.
