'The world saved by kids': the 7th edition in Naples

From October 21 to 25, 2024, Naples will host the final festival of the project "The World Saved by Kids," a cultural and educational event conceived by the Kolibrì Cultural Association. Under the theme "Wounds, Slits & Fantastic Escapes," the event will celebrate Alberto Manzi's centenary with numerous guests and activities. The festival will take place in the heart of Naples' historic center, culminating with a grand closing ceremony at the Teatro Nuovo.

Musical masterclasses and theatre workshops

During the five days of the festival, the historic center of Naples will become an epicenter of creativity and cultural education. Musical masterclasses and theater workshops will involve children and young people from the area, staging live shows that combine storytelling, music and art. The events will be inspired by selected books that will guide the creative and educational paths.

Activities for families and early childhood

In parallel, the festival offers workshops and meetings dedicated to pregnant women, new parents, child care workers and children from 0 to 3 years old. These activities will explore themes such as “The adventure of the first thousand days: children's music as nourishment”, and will be led by industry experts such as Teresa Porcella and Donatella Trotta.

Educational Restitution Events and Exhibitions

The festival also includes moments of educational restitution, with theatrical performances by young participants and the presence of award-winning authors of inspiring texts. In addition, an exhibition of Alessandro Sanna's works will be inaugurated at the State Archives, highlighting Alberto Manzi's educ-active influences.

Closing event and awards

On Friday, October 25, the Teatro Nuovo will host the award ceremony for the selected authors, enriched by readings, musical performances and important speeches. Among the final performances, the show “Ri/generazioni” stands out, a celebration of the musical creations of the kids participating in the masterclasses, under the guidance of Elisabetta Garilli. The festival is not only a cultural event, but a concrete commitment to inclusive education and cultural promotion, enriched by the contribution of important local and national collaborations and entities in the educational field.
