The confiscated revolver
Francesco Tipaldi's legal position was reconsidered in the second instance. The Naples Court of Appeal reduced his sentence to two years and six months of prison and ordered him placed under house arrest at his home.
The order, obtained in the second-instance trial, allows the defendant to leave Poggioreale prison and continue his pretrial detention under house arrest. Tipaldi is represented by attorney Luca Gili.
The legal case stems from a check carried out by the Carabinieri in the Marano di Napoli area. During the operation, Tipaldi was charged with illegal possession of a pistol, a common firearm that was allegedly hidden inside a car.
According to the reconstruction of the investigation, the gun was loaded with seven .357 Magnum caliber bullets.
In addition to the charge relating to the gun, the defendant was charged with illegal possession of ammunition for a common firearm. The charge specifically concerns the seven bullets contained in the weapon and other ammunition: 30 .357 Magnum rounds and 43 .7,65 Browning rounds.
The Court of Appeal's decision therefore affects the sanctioning and precautionary measures applied to Tipaldi, with the redetermination of the sentence and the granting of house arrest.
