Gragnano, Carabinieri High-Impact Blitz: Arrests, reports, and drug seizures amid checks and fines.
A night of extraordinary, high-impact checks involved the Carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia Company, with the support of the NIL and the NAS of Naples, in the Gragnano area. The operation focused on both preventing and combating illegal activities, checking road traffic and compliance with labor and food safety regulations.
Arnaldo De Carolis, 36, previously under house arrest, has been arrested pursuant to a detention order issued by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office - Criminal Enforcement Office. The order stems from his responsibility for a supermarket theft committed in January 2015 and for robbery and illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of causing harm, committed in April 2025 in Castellammare di Stabia. He was transferred to Poggioreale Prison by order of the judicial authorities.
During the checks, a person was reported in possession of 25 grams of marijuana. Another person was reported for being under probation when he was caught outside a bar on Via Roma around 1:40 AM.
Particular attention was paid to local businesses. A bar owner on Via Strada was fined for poor hygiene and sanitation, and legal action was taken. Labor violations were also detected, involving the employment of undocumented workers: administrative fines of €6.400 and suspension of business activity, effective October 19, 2026.
During the operation, a Louis Vuitton Paris bag was found in the center of the roadway, on Via Madonna delle Grazie, at number 352. Inside were 16 heat-sealed bags containing a total of 40 grams of hashish, a bag containing a dose of crack, and nine other bags containing 30 grams of marijuana. The items were seized.
Seven people were reported to the Prefecture for possession of small quantities of narcotics. At dawn, the operation's numbers revealed a significant pattern: 293 people identified and 107 vehicles checked, with 35 traffic violations totaling €19. The reported violations included failure to inspect vehicles, driving without a license or with an expired license, speeding, failure to wear seat belts, using a cell phone while driving, missing documents, and lack of insurance coverage.
