Ultras Milano arrested, investigation reveals links between Curva Sud leader and mafia clans in Naples

The investigation conducted by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has shaken the football world, leading to the elimination of the leaders of the Inter and AC Milan fan bases.

Among the most alarming details to emerge from the investigation are the significant ties between Luca Lucci , head of AC Milan's Curva Sud, and several Napoli ultras. In particular, Lucci allegedly maintained relations with one of the leaders of the Napoli fan base, an individual with no official connection to the club, to whom he allegedly provided hundreds of tickets for the Champions League quarter-final match.

Investigations revealed that some of these notes were intended, "at least in part," for members of mafia clans in the city of Naples. This issue was highlighted in a passage of the order signed by preliminary investigations judge Domenico Santoro , which led to the arrest of 16 people and placed three others under house arrest.

The wiretaps, dating back to April 12th of last year, clearly show that the Neapolitan club “did not collaborate in any way” with the ultras in the distribution of tickets.

On that crucial day, Lucci and the Neapolitan ultras representative met outside a bar in Cologno Monzese . During the meeting, Lucci received thanks from his interlocutor, an ultras leader from the Sanità district of Naples. A few hours before the match between the two teams, a particularly revealing conversation emerged.

De Marino, the ultras leader, referred to a meeting between the clans, stating: "We met up with all the clans of..." Lucci responded affirmatively, indicating he was aware of the situation.

De Marino then shared a personal detail, revealing that his brother, a prisoner in Opera, had alerted him to the availability of tickets. Lucci responded, "Okay, they're your choices, the right ones..." , while De Marino, in an anxious tone, commented that it was essential to obtain tickets for all the clans, stating, "Give us the tickets, give us five tickets..."

The dialogue sheds light on a disturbing picture of collusion between fans and organised crime, underlining the shadows that lurk in the world of football fans.
