Cervino mourns saxophonist Mario Luce who died in a road accident on the Appia

Cervino – The victim of the road accident that occurred at dawn today was Mario Luce, 30, a brilliant and well-regarded saxophonist living in the hamlet of Messercola.

Mario Luce, known and appreciated for his passion for music – he played the saxophone – and for his work in the restaurant industry. His family, originally from Santa Maria a Vico, is well known in the area.

The tragedy occurred shortly before 7 in the morning, along the Forche Caudine road, near the Sapa company, on the border with the province of Caserta. The white Renault Captur driven by the young man crashed into an articulated lorry in a very violent impact, which left him no escape. The intervention of the Fire Brigade was necessary to extract the body from the wreckage.Carabinieri

The Carabinieri arrived on site and are trying to clarify the dynamics of theaccidentAccording to initial hypotheses, the thick fog in the area may have played a decisive role, reducing visibility to a few meters on an already very busy stretch of road.

The driver of the truck, as is standard practice in such cases, was subjected to all tests to determine whether he was fit at the time of impact. The articulated lorry was seized.
