Camorra in Rome, the Senese clan had united the drug dealing areas: 26 arrests

Share

CIn Rome, the clan of the boss Michele Senese 'o pazzo had the ambitious aim of uniting the most important drug dealing areas of the capital, imposing the supply of cocaine, at higher prices, imported mainly from two Albanian suppliers.

And this morning the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, executed a precautionary custody order against 26 people, seriously suspected of criminal association aimed at drug trafficking, possession and supply of narcotics, illegal possession of weapons and robbery.

The operation, still ongoing, has revealed the background of a massive drug trafficking network, linked to the boss's clan Michele Siena, known as “O' Pazzo”, who aimed to control the main drug dealing areas of the capital.

According to the investigations, the criminal gang, led by Giuseppe Molisso and Leandro Bennato – both already detained for other serious crimes and historically close to the repeat offender Senese – attempted to unify under a single control the most flourishing areas of Roman drug dealing, including Tor Bella Monaca, Quarticciolo, Quadraro, Cinecittà, Tuscolano, Giardinetti, Primavalle and Casalotti.

Cocaine bought by Albanians and sold at inflated prices

A multi-million dollar business, estimated at tens of millions of euros per month, based on the supply of cocaine imported mainly from two Albanian suppliers and sold at prices higher than the market.

The clan, equipped with an arsenal that includes weapons of war and even hand grenades, is said to have consolidated its power through the systematic use of violence, imposing its rules on anyone who tried to oppose it.

The criminal structure, considered to be of the highest level in terms of dangerousness, would have operated with ruthless methods, ensuring control of the territory and the most profitable drug dealing areas.

Assets worth 5 million euros seized

During the operations, the Carabinieri are carrying out searches and preventive seizures, aimed at confiscating assets with a total value of approximately 5 million euros. Among the assets affected are properties and assets attributable to the main suspects, accused of being the leaders of a criminal organization well-established in the urban fabric of the Capital.

The operation represents a severe blow to organized crime in Rome, highlighting how the Camorra has attempted to extend its influence beyond the traditional borders of Campania. Investigations continue to ascertain further responsibilities and reconstruct the entire drug trafficking chain managed by the clan.
