The Monte Faito cableway was inspected in March 2024 by inspectors from the National Agency for the Safety of Railways and Road and Motorway Infrastructures (Ansfisa), within the scope of the mandatory three-yearly checks required by current legislation.
The Agency itself made this known yesterday evening, following the tragedy that cost the lives of four people.
Regarding the 2025 checks, Ansfisa specifies that “Eav – the operating company – sent all the requested documentation last April 8, including the results of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance checks, as well as the non-destructive tests carried out on the system cables”.
The technical reports, signed by the Director of Operations, certified the full suitability of theplant to continue the activity in safe conditions. All the documentation – as stated in the note – has been regularly acquired by the Agency.
At the moment, a delegation composed of Ansfisa officials and expert technicians is on site for further information. on-site investigations, within the scope of the planned surveillance activities.
