While the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office continues its investigations without stopping, even working on Easter Sunday, a technical element of primary importance it makes its way: the rope ski lift tractor it wouldn't have broken, but it could have come out of the pulley.
This development, which requires further confirmation and investigation, would partially overturn the initial reconstructions of the event. According to what is leaking from investigative circles, the investigators have not identified no clear breaking point on the steel rope.
On the contrary, the towing cable would be loose and sagging result, lying on streets, roofs and surrounding slopes.
The hypothesis, reported by TGR of Campania, is being examined by investigators and that the towing cable could have been paraded from its seat, the pulley. At that point, the cabin located upstream – perhaps due to a malfunction of the emergency brake – would have started a dramatic running backwards along the load-bearing cable, the latter remaining surprisingly intact.
The investigation, which is proceeding on the basis of the serious hypotheses of crime of manslaughter multiple and culpable disaster, now focuses with particular attention on the checks and verifications carried out before the reopening of the plant, which occurred last year 10th April.
The investigators intend to ascertain the regularity and effectiveness of the maintenance operations, considering that the towing rope had been replaced six years ago from a specialized company.
At the same time, the Police, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office, is combing through the offices of EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno), the company that manages the plant, to examine in detail the entrusting maintenance interventions to external companiesThe goal is to reconstruct the chain of responsibilities and verify whether all safety regulations have been respected.
Meanwhile, it has been learned that the autopsies on the bodies of the four victims should probably begin on Tuesday. autopsy tests will be essential to ascertain the precise causes of death and provide further elements useful to the investigation. And at that point the warranty notices as a due act.
The Faito tragedy continues to arouse deep dismay and questions in the local community and at a national level. The new investigative hypothesis on the failure of the towing cable to break opens up new scenarios and requires an even more in-depth analysis of the dynamics that led to the terrible accident.
