The suspects, linked to the Camorra clans Abate and Moccia, allegedly acted with threats and intimidation against a local entrepreneur, who was forced to take out usurious loans for large sums and subjected to heavy pressure to repay.
Two arrested were taken to prison. One under house arrest. According to prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, the suspects would have operated in a mafia manner, exploiting the violent reputation of the clans to impose their criminal hegemony on the territory.
The operation confirms the persistent activity of Camorra groups in the Neapolitan hinterland, specialized in usury and extortion to the detriment of entrepreneurs and traders.
