Castellammare, A triumph of emotions and laughter at the Supercinema Theater with the Oplontis Theater company

The success of a show comes from the passion and intensity that the actors are able to transmit to the audience. And that is exactly what happened last weekend on the stage of the Supercinema in Castellammare, where the Oplontis Teatro company enchanted the audience once again.

Renewing the appointment with the audience of Castellammare, the cast brought on stage two one-act plays of the Eduardian tradition, “Pericolosamente” and “Amicizia”, consolidating the special bond with the territory and giving two evenings of fun and emotion.Pericolosamente and Amicizia belong respectively to the collection La cantata dei giorni pari and La cantata dei giorni dispari. Two acts, included in the context of farcical comedy, which behind the natural lightness, reveal profound messages.

The overwhelming comedy of the scripts of the great Neapolitan playwright, thanks to the impeccable interpretation of the four artists on stage, has gained strength and released all its vigor.

The energy spread through words, gestures, mimicry and rhythm, enveloping the audience in a hypnotic experience. Each fraction of the show captured the audience, dragging them into a magical and exciting time and space. The social soul of Eduard's work—alive with realism and irony, contradictions and hopes of ordinary people—released all its vitality, evoking emotions unchanged over time.

The show shone, highlighting the personal success of each artist on stage. Director and actor Leopoldo Speranza, as always impeccable in interpreting the essence and style of Eduardo De Filippo, gave life to a very credible and authentic Arturo in Pericolosamente. Precise and fitting in the role of the husband grappling with a curious stratagem to tame the rebellious nature of his wife Dorotea, he was also able to effectively and profoundly delineate Bartolomeo in Amicizia, giving the audience a sparkling and extraordinarily comic finale.

The beloved Stefania Lamberti projected her charisma and magnetism into the role of Dorotea, giving her an irresistible verve. Sparkling in the role of the rebellious wife, who puts Arturo to the test, she is at the same time the unwitting victim of the bizarre stratagem adopted by her husband, who fires blanks at her at every sparkling argument.

With the same mastery she was then able to adapt her histrionic side to the figure of Carolina, Bartolomeo's sister in Amicizia, embodying her submissiveness and servility with great naturalness.

The chameleonic and multifaceted Roberto Nolano demonstrated his extraordinary interpretative ability in the role of the friend in both acts on stage. In Pericolosamente, he captured the audience with his powerful mimicry in the role of Michele, Arturo's friend, shocked by the latter's behavior, so much so that his already present nervous tics worsened.

In Amicizia, however, he demonstrated all his versatility by playing the role of Alberto, an old friend of Bartolomeo, overwhelmed in the finale by an unexpected revelation that made his performance even more hilarious.

Authentic, visceral and immersive, Loretana Manna has shown her talent by playing two incisive characters: the aggressive landlady in Pericolosamente and the neighbor persecuted by Bartolomeo's advances in Amicizia. With naturalness and faithfulness to the Eduardian style, she has given the audience the nuances of the era.

Once again, the Oplontis Teatro company has graced the stage of the Teatro Supercinema with its renowned passion – an essential ingredient of its comedy – combined with the profound humanity with which it has always captured the attention and interest of the public, scene after scene.

A humanity that also translates into concrete gestures of solidarity: part of the proceeds will in fact be donated to a charitable cause. On this occasion the contribution will be destined to the soup kitchen Don Pietro Ottena.

The Oplontis Teatro company continues to pay homage to the great theatrical tradition. A commitment that extends the beneficial effect of entertainment beyond the curtain, transforming it into a gift that continues to live for the benefit of others.
