Antonio Conte has a drawn face, his words articulated with emotion, the weight of responsibility still visible in the folds of a smile finally freed. After the victory over Cagliari that gave Napoli the fourth Scudetto in its history, the Italian coach gave himself to the microphones of Dazn to tell what, in his words, was “one of the most intense days of my career”.

“When we got to the camp it was almost impossible to get through, I don’t know how many people there were. A thought crossed my mind: what if we disappoint them?” A human, sincere doubt, which explains all the tension of a group aware of risking the dream of an entire city. “There was a crazy pressure, but these guys played an extraordinary championship. The credit goes to them”, added Conte, visibly moved.

But there are those who give him the credit. The Italian captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, at his second tricolor with the armband, has no doubts: “Napoli needed him. The coach brought us back to these levels in a very short time. This Scudetto is his”. A clear, direct investiture, the result of a journey lived with blood in one's eyes and heart in one's hand.

On the day of the celebration, Conte also wanted to underline the relationship with Aurelio De Laurentiis: “We are both winners, maybe in different ways, but both winners”. As for the future, he preferred to gloss over it, implying that today there is only room for one feeling: enjoying the embrace of Naples, which now loves him like a new king.
