Ischia – A large-scale control operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Ischia Company involved the entire island, with checks ranging from road traffic to illegal building, up to inspections of commercial activities.
The overall balance of the service speaks of over 300 people identified and almost 200 vehicles checked.
On the road traffic front, the military issued 21 fines for various violations of the Highway Code. Among the most significant cases, a 34-year-old was reported for driving without a license while he was driving a sports car.
Another man, 51, involved in an accident with injuries, refused to undergo tests for alcohol and drug use, resulting in a report and immediate withdrawal of his license. 7 people were also reported for personal use of drugs.
The attention of the Carabinieri also focused on illegal building. A property was identified where construction work was underway without any authorization and in an area subject to seismic, environmental and landscape constraints. The owner, a 62-year-old, was reported.
The operation's budget also includes interventions to protect work and safety in the workplace. Serious irregularities were found in two restaurants. Two entrepreneurs, aged 60 and 46 respectively, were reported for violations of workplace safety regulations and for the use of irregular labor.
Two fines totaling approximately 4.000 euros and administrative sanctions of the same amount were issued. One of the two businesses was notified of a suspension of activity for undeclared work, accompanied by an additional fine of 2.500 euros.
Finally, in collaboration with the ASL Napoli 2 Nord, health and hygiene checks were carried out at some bathing establishments in the Municipality of IschiaThree entrepreneurs, aged 58, 34 and 57, will have to regularise the notified prescriptions within 30 days, to guarantee public health and compliance with current regulations.
The operation of the Carabinieri of Ischia confirms itself as a constant presence for legality on the island, to protect the safety of citizens and compliance with the rules.
