Napoli will be received by Pope Leo XIV on Tuesday
Napoli - “We will go to the Pope on Tuesday, I didn't want to tell the boys beforehand”. With these words, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed to Radio Crc a special appointment for the team, the day after winning the fourth Scudetto in the club's history.
The announcement, made with emotion in the early hours of the Neapolitan celebration, adds a further moment of celebration for the Italian champions, ready to meet the Pope in the Vatican.
“From now on we must continue to ride this wave of a winning Naples as an idea: we must take back the role that we deserve in the world, as a city and philosophy – he added – Yesterday we reached over 52 screens that gave everyone the opportunity to witness this wonderful consecration and to do so without incidents. It is also a victory for Italian football”.
