The MAV – Museo Archeologico Virtuale di Ercolano opens its doors to two special days dedicated to great music and Mediterranean gastronomic tradition. On May 28 and 29, concerts, workshops and tastings will enliven the museum spaces, on the occasion of the reopening of the new Auditorium.

May 28: “The Great Music of Cinema” inaugurates the Auditorium

It starts on Wednesday 28 May at 20.00:XNUMX pm with the concert of the Cinestrings Ensemble Orchestra, which will bring to the stage “The Great Music of Cinema”. The event marks the official inauguration of the new MAV Auditorium. The evening will be attended with an institutional greeting by Gaetano Manfredi, Metropolitan Mayor of Naples, Ciro Bonajuto, Mayor of Ercolano, and Alessandro Remondelli, President of the Cives Foundation.

May 29: children's workshops and signature tastings

On Thursday, May 29, the program continues in the morning with the initiative “Let's have a snack at MAV”, part of the *Mediterranea* review. The little ones will be able to participate in food education workshops, closely observing the transformation of milk into dairy products such as yogurt, ricotta and cheeses.

In the afternoon, starting at 18.30:XNUMX p.m., there will be room for taste with “Meetings and Tastings – The World of Cheeses”. An event designed to discover, through tasting and storytelling, one of the pillars of the Mediterranean diet. Chefs, producers, cheesemakers and journalists from the sector will be present, including chef Domenico Candela, gastronomes Liberato Cuomo and Salvatore De Gennaro, master cheesemakers Giuseppe Iaconelli and Giuliano Maturo, and farmer Claudio Papa.

Remondelli: “Let’s give back to the city a place of culture and sharing”

“We are proud to reopen the MAV Theater thanks to the support of the Metropolitan City and the Municipality of Ercolano – declared Alessandro Remondelli, President of the Cives Foundation –. This space will be a point of reference for the culture of the territory, with hundreds of events in the coming years. With the concert we want to pay homage to the music that has marked the history of cinema, while the following day will be a celebration for families and children, to rediscover the value of our food traditions”.

Free entry, reservation required

Both events are free entry until all seats are taken. Reservations are required by writing to the email address: events@museomav.it
