Nola – A lifesaving intervention by Italian Army soldiers averted the worst this morning in Nola, where a 21-year-old girl was rescued after being taken seriously ill.
At 7 in the morning, a patrol of the Campania Group involved in the “Safe Roads” operation noticed the young woman on the ground near the Court of Nola, area under their surveillance.
Without hesitation, the military immediately provided first aid by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques and then cleared the girl's airways. At that point they placed the 21-year-old in the lateral safety position and finally alerted 118, which arrived shortly after to complete the treatment.
The promptness that made the difference
“360-degree professional training, including first aid techniques, is essential in these situations,” said Colonel Romano Ventura, Commander of the Group. “This episode demonstrates once again the importance of the 'Safe Roads' operation not only for safety, but for providing concrete help to the population.”
The “Safe Streets” operation
The initiative, which sees the Army supporting law enforcement in sensitive areas, thus confirms itself as a valuable resource even in sudden medical emergencies.
