Tragedy in Poggioreale, blacksmith falls from roof and dies instantly

A sudden tragedy shook the afternoon of Poggioreale. A 62-year-old man lost his life while he was carrying out an inspection on the roof of a warehouse in via Fontanelle al Trivio.

According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri, who intervened following a report from 118, the victim, a blacksmith and owner of a company specialising in ironwork based in Casoria, fell from a height of about four or five meters. The impact was devastating and left no escape: the man died instantly, despite the immediate arrival of rescue.

The dynamics of the accident are still being ascertained, but it seems to be a tragic accident that occurred during a normal technical inspection activity. The area was cordoned off to allow for surveys, while family members and colleagues were reached by the news with dismay.
