Naples – Yet another episode of violence on the Vesuvian roads: a woman was injured and hospitalized after a stone hit her car while it was moving on the 162 dir road, near the Paesi Vesuviani exit.
A similar case on state road 268, near the Madonna dell'Arco junction, where another rock broke the windshield of a vehicle, hitting the driver.
Alleanza Verdi Sinistra MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli has collected over 20 reports of similar incidents since May 1st, with photos and videos documenting the gravity of the acts.
“These are attempted murders, the criminals must be stopped before someone dies,” Borrelli declared, launching an appeal to motorists: “Be extremely careful and report every episode.”
Among the testimonies, that of a man: “On Saturday evening a stone hit my wife in the face, it's a crazy act!” Another driver described the attack on his brother on state road 268: “A criminal act that could have ended in tragedy.”
Authorities are working to identify those responsible, while road safety concerns grow.
“There have been over 20 incidents reported from May 1st to today, all in the same area. Clear evidence that there is something that goes well beyond the criminal act of an individual. The most accredited hypothesis by the complainants is that of criminals who want to damage the cars and then rob those who get out to see the damage.
In any case, these dangerous criminals must be brought to justice by increasing police patrols in the area, before someone dies. I appeal to anyone who has information that could help track down the perpetrators to share it, even anonymously, to help the investigation.
I then make another appeal to motorists who travel those roads to pay maximum attention and report any suspicious individuals to the police”. These are the words of Borrelli.
