A plaque dedicated to Fabio Postiglione, a journalist who died at the age of 44 in a tragic road accident, was inaugurated today on the door of the press room of the Court of Naples.
The initiative, promoted by the Order of Journalists of Campania led by Ottavio Lucarelli, pays homage to a "courageous reporter who never lost his smile", as the dedication reads.
The ceremony was attended by Fabio's wife, the journalist Valentina Trifiletti, the president of the Court of Appeal Maria Rosaria Covelli, the attorney general Aldo Policastro, the public prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, the vice president of the Bar Association Alfredo Sorge, the president of the Criminal Chamber Marco Muscariello and the deputy prosecutor Simona Di Monte.
“Journalists, be authoritative,” urged Gratteri, while Policastro underlined the uniqueness of naming a space in the Palace of Justice after a journalist.
Postiglione, remembered for his rigor and passion in reporting reality without giving in to sensationalism, had trained in that very Court, earning the respect of colleagues and professionals. “Fabio was a true, upright reporter who knew the value of words and the responsibility of those who use them,” declared President Covelli.
“His example remains a beacon for free information at the service of citizens.” The plaque, a symbol of his legacy, will continue to inspire those who believe in journalism as a mission.
