The author will talk with Emanuele Bosso in a meeting that promises emotional intensity and deep reflection. An opportunity to listen again to the unmistakable voice of a writer who has been able to tell the subtlest cracks of the human soul.
In Donnaregina, Teresa Ciabatti returns with a narrative that intertwines autobiography and news, bringing to the stage an unexpected encounter: that between a writer and 'o Nasone, a boss accused of brutal crimes, including 182 murders. The protagonist, light years away from that world, is commissioned by a newspaper to interview him. She, who has always written about teenagers, celebrities, and show business personalities, finds herself facing an unknown universe.
But the story takes an unexpected turn: the criminal, a pigeon breeder and believer in UFOs, shows himself vulnerable. It is not the crime news that strikes her, but the nostalgia for the women she loves, the friends she killed, and the bond with her family. The suspicion that everything is a manipulation remains, but the ground on which the boss and the writer meet is that of emotional wounds: imperfect parents, lost children, unhealable misunderstandings.
In an attempt to reconstruct the past of the son of Misso, one of the most notorious clans of Neapolitan crime, the protagonist ends up looking for someone else: her daughter, who she feels is now far away. The novel then becomes a journey through memories, revelations and unanswered questions about identity and relationships.
