The third edition of the festival Il Teatro delle Persone – per un teatro di quartiere (Theatre of People) – for a theatre of proximity, a project that blends art, social inclusion and community, will kick off on May 31st at the Trianon Viviani in Naples. Twelve events are scheduled until December, including music, theatre, cinema, workshops and debates.

Conceived and directed by the director and pedagogist Davide Iodice, the festival was born as the result of an artistic-pedagogical path developed within the project of the same name. Objective: to build a “proximity” theater, capable of welcoming and valorizing social and cultural diversity, through processes of co-creation and participation.
“This year too, the festival involved teenagers, young people of different nationalities, people with disabilities, professionals and social workers – explains Iodice –. A community that, thanks to art, tries to go beyond the fragilities of welfare”.
In addition to the Trianon Viviani, promoter and main venue of the event, the festival is supported by the Teatro di Napoli – Teatro Nazionale, the Eduardo De Filippo Foundation and a network of entities active in the area: Dedalus – Officine Gomitoli, Manovalanza, Forgat, Putèca Celidonia, l'Asilo, Interno 5 and Scuola elementare del Teatro – Conservatorio popolare per le Arti della scena.
The first event, scheduled for Saturday, May 31st at 19:XNUMX p.m., is the Scetate concert, a musical and social project curated by Forgat for the Scuola elementare del Teatro. The initiative was born from Orchestrìa, a multidisciplinary laboratory that has intertwined music, theater, dance and cinema in a path of collective growth.
Thursday, June 5, at 20:XNUMX p.m., space for the world premiere of Polaroid, a new production by the company Tutto il mondo è paese, directed by Adriana Follieri. The group is made up of very young performers from six different countries, also involved in the writing and production of the show.
The festival continues on Wednesday, July 2nd with a focus on artistic practices in penitentiary institutions. At 17 pm the meeting Il mare dentro, coordinated by Eduardo Di Pietro of LunAzione; followed, at 18 pm, by the presentation of the short film A domani by Emanuele Vicorito, born from a workshop at the Nisida juvenile penal institute.
Thursday, July 3 at 17 pm *Corpo unico* will be performed, a workshop open to people with and without disabilities, curated by Chiara Alborino. At 19 pm, the public restitution with the choreographic performance Fiori d'estate.
On Friday, July 4, the festival presents the results of the Officina workshop. At 18:20 pm, Quaggiù | The plagues of Naples – vol. I by Francesco Rungi, directed by Valentina Esposito Carbonara. At 30:5 pm, M. Città, written and directed by Enzo Castellone. On Saturday, July 18, there will be a repeat: at 20:30 pm, The plagues of Naples – vol. II, directed by Francesco Domenico D'Auria; at XNUMX:XNUMX pm, M. Città again.
From July 21st to 26th, the Scuola Elemento del Teatro proposes the Progetto compagnia, with the artistic residence and the open rehearsals of the show Alice allo specchio, directed by Annalisa D'Amato and Davide Iodice.
The festival will close on Saturday, December 5th with the international event *Vizita*, included in the new season of the Trianon Viviani. The show, directed by Davide Iodice and produced with the Teatro Migjeni of Scutari and Sardegna Teatro, will be presented in Albanian with Italian subtitles. The work has already won numerous international awards, including prizes at the Albanian Theatre Festival and the Mess Festival in Sarajevo.
All events of the festival, with the exception of the show *Vizita*, have free admission until all seats are taken.
