Vico Equense, house burglaries: three arrests carried out by the Carabinieri

Three people were arrested this morning by the Carabinieri of the Sorrento Company in execution of a precautionary order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Torre Annunziata, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Two suspects were taken to Poggioreale prison, while a third, over seventy, was placed under house arrest. All are seriously suspected of two aggravated thefts committed in Vico Equense last September and October.

The first episode dates back to September 1, when thieves broke into a home taking advantage of the absence of the owners, who had gone out to celebrate their daughter's eighteenth birthday. After forcing a window, the criminals stole cash, five watches and several pieces of jewelry, including a wedding ring.

The second attempt, on October 29, was foiled by the sudden arrival of the owner, who put the thieves to flight. The investigations, conducted by the Vico Equense Carabinieri Station with the support of another Carabinieri Command, allowed the identification of the vehicle used and its occupants.

The images from the video surveillance cameras were fundamental to the investigative activity, as they allowed us to precisely reconstruct the movements of the suspects towards the Sorrento coast and to identify the alleged perpetrators.
