Three prison officers investigated for the prison attack on Denise and Ana's killer

Prato – Tre agenti della polizia penitenziaria del carcere di Prato sono finiti sotto indagine per l’aggressione subita da Vasile Frumuzache, il 32enne romeno reo confesso degli omicidi di Ana Maria Andrei e Denisa Maria Paun.

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Prato has registered as suspects a 24-year-old from Caserta, a 40-year-old from Belvedere Marittimo (Cosenza) and a 45-year-old from Naples, accused of refusal to perform official duties and negligent injury. The three will be questioned in the next few hours.

The episode dates back to June 6, when Frumuzache, an inmate in the Prato penitentiary, was seriously burned by another inmate who poured a pan of boiling oil mixed with sugar on him, hitting him in the face and limbs. According to what emerged, despite the directives of the Prosecutor's Office to the prison commander to guarantee the inmate's safety, the attacker was "left completely free" to carry out the act.

The story, which has shaken thepenitentiary institution, raises questions about the management of internal security. The Prato Public Prosecutor's Office continues its investigations to clarify the responsibilities of the three officers involved.
