Neapolitan truck driver seriously injured during maintenance of the truck

Castelfidardo – Serious accident at work this afternoon in Castelfidardo, in the province of Ancona.

A 61 year old truck driver, originally from Napoli, was seriously injured after the cabin of his truck suddenly closed, crushing his legs while he was carrying out maintenance.

The man had stopped in a public parking lot on Via delle Fisarmoniche to check the vehicle, lifting the truck's cabin.

For reasons still being investigated, the lifting system failed or was activated involuntarily, causing the sudden closure of the structure which struck him in the lower limbs.

The 118 emergency service intervened immediately: the truck driver was stabilized on site and then transported by helicopter ambulance to the regional hospital of Torrette di Ancona, where he was admitted with a red code. His conditions are considered serious.

The Carabinieri of Castelfidardo also intervened at the scene of the accident, and began investigations to clarify the exact dynamics of the facts and verify any profiles of responsibility or mechanical malfunctions.
