Bankruptcy in Marano: assets worth over 5 million euros seized

Marano – A severe blow to economic crime was inflicted by the Guardia di Finanza of Giugliano in Campania, in synergy with the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, as part of an investigation into a fraudulent maxi bankruptcy involving five people, de jure and de facto administrators of two companies operating in the restaurant, bar and pastry sector in Marano di Napoli.

The investigations led to the preventive seizure of assets for a total of over 5 million euros: 1,534 million relating to the company assets transferred to two “twin” companies and 3,47 million in equivalent, aimed at confiscation.

According to the investigations, the suspects allegedly orchestrated a sophisticated system to evade tax obligations, emptying the two bankrupt companies and diverting the assets to clone companies, active in the same commercial sector. The charges brought by the Prosecutor's Office include bankruptcy fraudulent, self-laundering and fraudulent evasion of income tax and VAT.

“Our commitment against illegal economies that pollute the economic fabric of the territory is constant,” said Anna Maria Lucchetta, acting prosecutor of Naples North. “In collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza, we work to protect public finances and fight those who operate outside the law.”

The operation, ordered by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples North, represents a strong signal in the fight against tax fraud and money laundering, phenomena that compromise the transparency and competitiveness of the local market.

The Guardia di Finanza continues its investigations to ascertain further responsibilities and dismantle any networks of complicity, while the seized assets remain under the management of the authorities awaiting judicial decisions.
