Napoli's Scudetto-winning debut in Sassuolo

The Italian champions Napoli will make their debut in the next championship in Sassuolo.

The 2025-26 Serie A championship will begin on the weekend of 23-24 August 2025 and end on 24 May 2026. Two midweek rounds are scheduled: 29 October 2025 (matchday 9) and 6 January 2026 (matchday 19).

Instead, there will be four breaks for national team commitments: 7 September 2025, 12 October 2025, 16 November 2025 and 29 March 2026. As has been the case for several years now, the Serie A calendar will be asymmetrical: the sequence of matches in the first half of the season will therefore be different from that of the matches in the second half of the season, with a minimum of 8 matchdays between the first and second leg matches against the same opponent.

The derbies (this year involving the teams of Turin, Milan and Rome) will, however, all have to be played on different days and it will not be possible to place them on the 1st and 9th day (midweek weekday round).

The teams participating in the Champions League (Napoli, Inter, Atalanta and Juve) will not be able to meet those involved in the Europa League (Bologna and Roma) and Conference (Fiorentina) on matchdays 5, 22, 26, 29, 32 and 35, that is, when two consecutive rounds of UEFA competitions are scheduled.

Furthermore, the alternation of home and away matches between Inter and Milan, Lazio and Roma, Juventus and Torino and Fiorentina and Pisa is always planned, with some exceptions: at the beginning of the season for the two Tuscan teams, in order to allow for the completion of the work planned in the two facilities, and for the two Milanese teams in the month of January, when the San Siro stadium will be available to the IOC for the Opening Ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games (scheduled for 6 February 2026).

For this last reason, it is very likely that Milan and Inter will both make their home debuts on the first matchday: one on Saturday 23 August and one on Monday 25, while it is certain that they will both play away on the weekends of 31 January/1 February and 7-8 February, given the unavailability of the Milanese stadium.
