De Bruyne's father: "He chose Napoli to continue playing at a high level"

Kevin De Bruyne has said no to easy millions to continue chasing the football that counts. The Belgian champion, landed in Rome for medical visits with Napoli, has chosen Italy and Serie A, turning down more economically rich offers from Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Father Herwing, who accompanied him to the capital and left no room for interpretation, explained this outside Villa Stuart: “For Kevin, the most important thing has always been the sporting dimension. He chose Naples because he wants to continue playing at the highest levels.”

Now all that's missing is the signature, which should arrive any day now at the Filmauro headquarters: a two-year contract with an option for a third year, on which the president De Laurentiis is ready to put the official stamp. But for the people, those who welcomed him today with chants and applause, Kevin De Bruyne is already one of the family. And Naples, from today, has one more reason to dream big.
