Tragedy on the pitch and in life for a young talent
He fought for two days between life and death, as on the field, without ever backing down. But this time it wasn't enough. Lorenzo Rastelli, 17 years old, a promising young player of Roman football, died after being hit by a car while riding a scooter Via Casilina, at the height of Viale della Primavera, on the night of June 25th. He was a boy full of dreams, who grew up with a ball between his feet and a future yet to be written. He played in theUnder 17 of the sports club chartreuse, where he was considered a rising talent.
Immediately rescued after the impact, Lorenzo was rushed to the hospital: the doctors did everything they could, but his conditions immediately appeared desperate. After two days in a coma, his heart stopped. The announcement of the tragedy was made by his team, with a post on social media full of pain: "A news that we never wanted to give and that deeply breaks our hearts. After two days in which he fought like a lion, Lorenzo unfortunately did not make it".
In the meantime, the Prosecutor of Rome opened a file for road murder. The investigation has been entrusted to the local police of Rome Capitale, which will have to clarify the dynamics of the clash. In the city there is a void left by a boy who had just begun to write his story. A boy like many others, but who had something more: talent, determination, the light in his eyes.
